We are going to show you a real futuristic car, which proves that inventors often project themselves into the future, creating objects and services that, at present, we cannot even imagine. The inventor and designer of this car, called "Cutera", is Vittorio Manzi (Florence). He has devoted himself to the study of the design for many years and he’s promoter of various initiatives in order to communicate and develop his passion for the technology and the art. The Cutera uses a special mechanism, which permits to move the wheels and the engine, so that it can extend in order to obtain a greater comfort inside, as well as rise from the ground in order to reduce the parking space. Anyway, the real novelty is the possibility of quickly interchanging the propelling engine unit on the back, so as to replace it with an engine of other kind. This project aims at creating centres of automatic engine exchange to be located on the outskirts of the cities: thanks to them, it would be possible to reach the city with the petrol engine and then stop in an engine-parking, where the petrol engine could be automatically replaced, by means of a specific apparatus, with an electric engine, so that the car could move within the city without polluting. In this way, it’s possible to gather in a single car the advantages of a petrol car and the benefits to the environment given by the electric engine. This car is neither on sale, nor it has been physically manufactured, as its practical realization needs a relevant investment. The Cutera, as it was planned, represents an extraordinary innovation because it offers a valid solution to the problems of pollution, traffic and energy consumption. This kind of inventions makes us guess what the future will announce and which innovations will be brought to our customary style of life. As a matter of fact, many of Manzi’s projects, which date back to the 70s, are now realized at international levels. Congratulations to this project and his inventor.
